Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin Eyes Hutto

One of the biggest Hutto stories last week came from the Austin Business Journal, which reported that Jeff Bezos’ aerospace company, Blue Origin, is eyeing Hutto for a massive industrial project known publicly as “Project Blue Hub.” If it comes together, the project could bring a 1.3 million-square-foot manufacturing, research, warehouse, and logistics facility to the area, along with more than 2,000 jobs and a reported investment of at least $650 million.

That is a huge number; and potentially a huge moment for Hutto.

With Samsung continuing its build-out just down the road in Taylor and the SH 130 corridor entering a season of major growth, it is becoming more and more clear that eastern Williamson County is no longer on the edge of Central Texas’ future, it is right in the middle of it. If Blue Origin lands here, it would be another major signal that Hutto is becoming a serious player in the region’s next wave of industrial and technology development.

At the same time, growth this big deserves thoughtful attention. New jobs, new investment, and new opportunities are exciting, but they also come with real questions about roads, housing, utilities, public safety, schools, and the kind of community Hutto wants to be long-term. Growth is coming either way, but the goal should be sustainable growth that strengthens Hutto without overwhelming the people who already call it home.

For now, nothing appears final, and no public deal has been announced, but this is absolutely one to watch. Whether Blue Origin chooses Hutto or not, the message is clear: Hutto is on the radar, and the decisions made in this season will help shape what our community becomes for years to come.

Congratulations, Class of 2026

A huge congratulations to the Hutto High School Class of 2026! Graduating high school is no small thing, and every senior walking across that stage has earned this moment through years of hard work, growth, and perseverance. This season may feel bittersweet as some of you prepare to leave Hutto for college, careers, the military, or new adventures in other cities, states, and maybe even countries, but your best years are still ahead of you. Wherever life takes you next, remember that you will always be part of Hippo Nation, and Hutto will always be one of the places that helped shape who you are.

Want to cheer them on? Hutto High School’s graduation ceremony is Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. at Hutto Memorial Stadium.
