Howdy, Hutto. Looks like some sunshine finally did the rain dance; we got some decent rain this past weekend. More importantly, there’s a new coffee shop, a data center proposal stirring debate, and plenty to get into this week. Welcome to the first issue.

What’s Up with 113 East Street?
Remember East Street Pizzeria at 113 East Street? It was a great location for a bar and restaurant, and its closure last September left a noticeable gap in downtown Hutto.
The location still has strong potential—whether for another restaurant or something new entirely. It’d be great to see a tenant move in and bring fresh energy back to the area. Do we know who owns the property? Maybe we should have a bake sale and purchase the property and turn it into a swanky hangout spot. Call it the Hippo Haus.
