Your 2026 Father’s Day Guide To Hutto

The Hutto Co-Op District
Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 21, and you don’t have to leave Hutto to make Dad feel celebrated. Whether he’s a coffee-and-brunch guy, a barbecue guy, a burger-and-beer guy, someone who wants a walk at the park, or just a little time with the people he loves, there are plenty of good ways to spend the day close to home.
Start With Coffee
If you want to ease into the day, start with a local coffee stop at Lamppost Coffee in downtown Hutto or Afugá Coffee on Muirfield Bend. Baked ’n Sconed is another local favorite for pastries, scones, and coffee, but I’d plan ahead there if you’re hoping to bring something home for Father’s Day.
My Brunch Pick
For brunch, my personal Hutto pick is Hippo Cafe. It’s local, casual, and exactly the kind of hometown breakfast spot that feels right for Father’s Day morning. If you want something a little more polished or scenic, Jack Allen’s Kitchen at the Co-Op is a great option too, especially if you want to make a little outing out of it and enjoy the atmosphere around the Co-Op District.
Add An Easy Outdoor Stop
If the weather cooperates, Father’s Day doesn’t have to be all about food and reservations. Take a walk at Hutto Lake Park, let the kids burn off some energy at Adam Orgain Park, or bring a chair and make it a simple afternoon outside. Sometimes the best Father’s Day plan is just good food, a little fresh air, and time together close to home.
Keep It Classic For Lunch Or Dinner
If lunch or dinner is more the plan, Hutto has plenty of options depending on Dad’s style. Southside Market & Barbeque is the obvious pick for brisket, sausage, and a no-fuss Texas barbecue meal, while Top Notch brings the classic burger-and-shake feel. The Downtown Hall of Fame is a good downtown option for burgers, drinks, and a local bar feel, and Cottonwood Creek Brewery works well for families who want barbecue, local beer, cocktails, and a relaxed Father’s Day hangout. If Dad is in the mood for Mexican or Tex-Mex, Julio’s Mexican Restaurant, Rio Grande Tex-Mex, and Casa Jalisco are all easy local picks for fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, chips and salsa, and a Father’s Day margarita.
Margaritas, Beer, Or Wine
If drinks are part of the plan, Hutto has that covered too. Julio’s, Rio Grande, and Casa Jalisco are the places I’d look for a margarita with lunch or dinner, while Power Brewing Project is a solid local stop for craft beer and Cottonwood Creek gives you the brewery-and-smokehouse combo in one place. If wine is more his thing, Hutto Wine Bar downtown is a quieter option for a glass of wine and a slower afternoon.
End With Something Sweet
For dessert, Amy’s Ice Creams is the easy new Hutto pick, especially if the family wants to keep things simple after lunch or dinner. And if Dad is more of a pie guy, Texan Cafe & Pie Shop is always worth keeping in mind… just plan ahead if you want to pick something up before Sunday. However you celebrate, the best part is simple: grab Dad, pick a local spot and spend a little time supporting the Hutto businesses that help make this community feel like home.
Hours can change for holidays, so check with each spot before heading out.

Hutto Hippos Athletics
Hutto’s 7-on-7 football team kept its summer momentum rolling, following up its A&M Showcase title with another championship run at SMU.
The Hippos battled through a full slate of games, picking up pool-play wins over Kaufman, Arlington Bowie, Frisco Liberty, and Azle before moving into bracket play, where they beat Royse City 25–13 and edged Brock 21–20 in the semifinal.
Hutto then got a little payback in the championship game, taking down Liberty Christian 18–7 after falling to them earlier in pool play, giving the Hippos their second tournament title in as many weeks and another exciting sign of what’s building ahead of football season.
